When it comes to booking budget-friendly travel, timing is everything. April is a great time to take advantage of appealing cruise deals both domestically and abroad. Here are some promotions to take note of:

Priceline: Itching for a last-minute vacation? Browse and you may be able to score an April 2016 cruise to Hawaii, Bermuda, Alaska, Mexico or the Caribbean for up to 83 percent off.

Norwegian Cruise Line: Booking a future trip this April may help you receive some onboard freebies. From now until April 10, customers can pick one, two or four free onboard amenities depending on the type of stateroom they purchase. Freebies include a free beverage package, free specialty dining, shore excursion credit or a Wi-Fi package.

Royal Caribbean and Viking: Now is the time to take advantage of buy one, get one half off deals. From April 4 to May 1, you can buy one Caribbean cruise and get 50 percent off your companion ticket by logging onto Hoping to travel to Europe? Viking Cruises is offering two-for-one cruise fares on some of their most popular European itineraries. This means you can enjoy river and ocean cruises to destinations such Amsterdam, Budapest, Barcelona and Venice.

If you love to pamper yourself, you’re in luck. April is the time of year to take advantage of spa deals across the country. A number of spas and salons participate in Spa Week (April 11 to 17) and offer special deals and discounts on their most coveted services. To see if your favorite spa is taking part in the annual event, visit Even spas that aren’t involved with Spa Week have great promos this time of year. Here are some deals to consider:

Bliss Spa: Members of this spa can take advantage of special perks from April 18 to 22. They’ll receive 30 percent off Bliss products and get free gifts with purchase while supplies last.

Exhale Spa: Starting April 1 and continuing through the end of the month, spa lovers can enjoy Exhale’s "Perfect Pair" promotion. Guests will be able to indulge in two 60-minute signature therapies (True Facial and Fusion Massage) for just $199.

Massage Envy: When you buy $125 in gift cards, you’ll receive a free 30-minute upgrade and your choice of a free "enhanced therapy." This offer is valid from April 15 to May 8.

Oasis Day Spa: Spa-goers will get 15 percent off any spa service from April 11 to April 15.

Red Door Spa: They're celebrating Spa Week by offering guests their choice of a facial, de-stress body treatment or pedicure for just each.

Small Kitchen Appliances Deals

In preparation for wedding and graduation season, many retailers mark down their small kitchen appliances this time of year. Here are some deals to consider:

Best Buy: Spring cleaning fans can save 10 to 20 percent off robotic vacuums from brands such as Roomba, Samsung and Bissell. They can also enjoy savings of up to 0 on wine coolers, beer kegerators and compact refrigerators.

J.C. Penney: From April 1 to April 3, select blenders will be 30 to 40 percent off.

Macy’s: Coffee lovers can receive 30 percent off espresso makers and coffee brewers from brands such as Nespresso, Keurig and KitchenAid from April 6 to April 13.

Sears: Select housewares (including blenders and coffeemakers) will be 10 percent to 30 percent off from April 10 to April 16.

Williams-Sonoma: Select Breville food processors will be $50 off through April 3, Nespresso machines will be 25 percent off, and some Vitamix blenders with be $50 off.


Spring Rain Gear and Activewear Deals

You can prepare for wet April days by stocking up on rain gear this month. Some retailers also discount their athletic sneakers this time of year since it’s the start of outdoor running season.

DSW: The more you buy, the more you save at DSW. From April 1 to April 5, DSW is having an online-only promotion. Shoppers will save $10 off every $74 they spend, $25 off every $149 they spend, and $40 off every $199 they spend.

Kmart: Everlast Sport footwear is up to 20 percent off.

J.C. Penney: Women’s New Balance and Asics sneakers will be on sale for around $44.99 from April 7 to April 12. Select styles of men’s and women’s Nike shoes will be 20 percent off from April 14 to April 17

Macy’s: Regularly priced at $275, select London Fog raincoats will be more than 50 percent off from April 6 to April 13.

Sears: Select activewear (including windbreakers and hooded athletic jackets) will be up to 60 percent off, and Everlast adult athletic shoes will be 50 percent off.
