Elemis Day Spa London

The House of Elemis

Elemis Day Spa London

This cute little spa has been a secret weapon for ladies who lunch and work locally for 14 years. But age was starting to wither the old girl: its Eastern-influenced decor beginning to look dated. So, like its clients, Elemis checked in for a luxurious overhaul (and a new look supervised by stylist Bay Garnett). The results are impressive – as well as a sparkly shop, there are now flash treatment rooms at the top and a Speed Spa in the basement (dealing with fast beauty fixes, not narcotics). You can spend 15 minutes in the pedi chair (£20), or enjoy being treated à deux in the private penthouse (£200/hr), a fab loft with a glass roof and state-of-the-art heated amber and quartz-crystal beds for the ultimate in relaxation.

Underneath its fancy facelift, the treatments on offer are still as vast and as sumptuous as ever. If it's your skin that needs a boost, book in for a fantastic BIOTEC facial, which involve the use of micro electric currents, light therapy and oxygen infusion to repair, firm, invigorate and generally princess-ify your skin. With every BIOTEC appointment, visitors receive full facial analysis which defines which of the seven BIOTEC facials will be most effective. And the results aren't wrong – after a Sonic Skin-Resurfacing Facial, which included a ten-minute massage, we were darn-right glowing. But if it's your soul that needs some TLC, plump for an Elemis massage. The Garden of England Rose Restore massage offers an hour sheer relaxation, what with its soft, hydrating body massage, salt scrub and use of delectable natural oils. Total heaven.
